Norwich schools appoint two new senior leaders

Jane Austen College and The Hewett Academy have made exciting new appointments to their senior leadership teams. Lucy Austin, current Vice Principal of The Hewett Academy, has been promoted to Head of School. Summer Turner, current Vice Principal of Jane Austen College, has also been promoted to Head of School.

Summer Turner joined Jane Austen College in 2020 and led on JAC's reopening during Covid-19, preparations for GCSE exams this summer, and a new strategy for improving the educational outcomes for students with the most barriers to learning. Previously, Summer led curriculum reform across our trust’s family of schools in her role as Director of Curriculum. She is a nationally respected expert and author on curriculum and leadership.

I know, personally, that she is incredibly passionate about our school community and will lead our school forward to achieve great things. Lucy Austin has been promoted after her impressive work raising achievement, developing our teams and driving up standards. She has been working at The Hewett Academy for two years. She will be supporting Antony Little, Executive Principal, and the team, as the school continues to work together to deliver an excellent education to children.
